The 3rd edition of MADRID DE CINE Spanish Film Screenings took place on June 8, 9 and 10. This edition has further consolidated the market as the international platform for the promotion of Spanish Cinema. In fact, has witnessed a remarkable increase in terms of number of participants and exceeded also all other expected results. This year, Madrid de Cine has had the privilege of having Mr. Eduardo Noriega as patron of the market; one of Spain’s most reputed actors abroad, as proved by success of his last features En el punto de mira and Transsiberian).
664 participants, in comparison to 580 in past edition; include 146 buyers from 36 countries around the globe. |
38 market screenings, adding up to a total of 931 viewings at the Princesa Cinemas. Half of these titles premiered at the market.
Among the most viewed: No me pidas que te bese porque te besare, 8 citas, 3 días, Canciones de amor en Lolita’s Club, Fuera de Carta, Casual Day, Transsiberian, Demente, Todos estamos invitados and 7 mesas de billar francés.
Moreover, 175 titles available at the Video Library installed at the Meliá Princesa Hotel, venue of the event. Among the most viewed: Casual Day, Old Man Bebo, Enloquecidas, Intrusos en Manasés and El Greco.

TVE confirms sales of La carta esférica and El concursante to USA, as well as, negotiating rights of Las 13 Rosas with France and Germany, Oviedo Express with Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, and La sombra de nadie with Japan.
Latidoconfirms El Pollo, el pez y el cangrejo real as one of its big hits screened on the market and at the international press junkets interviews with its authors, Jose Luis López Linares, Jesús Almagro and Pedro Larumbe. In addition, the film has been picked to compete in Tokyo’s Latin Festival and sold to the following countries: Germany, Austria, Hungary, Puerto Rico, Russia, Japan and Norway. The company has also sold La buena vida and tied down a package of four films to Benelux. Finally, the film Mentiras y gordas, currently in-production, has created great expectations.
